I’m a citizen of the world with a national radio platform designed to help people see their magnificence and strive to make it brighter and bolder. On my talk show, Greatness By Design, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing some of the world’s most fascinating people including, Dr. Maya Angelou, Quincy Jones, Suze Orman, Charles OsGood, Ossie Davis, Deepak Chopra, Laila Ali, John Legend, Marianne Williamson, Nancy Wilson and Cicely Tyson. I think conversation is one of the most powerful tools we have in humanity next to listening and loving.
As mass media grows more influential, I have seen the swapping of value for vanity. Therefore, I have become a champion for media literacy and making sure that our young people have a fighting chance in this every evolving yet challenging information era. I’ve decided to become part of the solution.
Part of my pledge is to not only criticize what needs to change, but also commit to contributing my influence to creating the change I want to see in the world. In particular, in 2008, I founded and organize Annual National Black Women’s Town Hall Meetings around the country, designed to provide a provocative solution-building dialogue to springboard an agenda that speaks to and addresses the issues imperative to the uplifting of African-American women and girls. We kicked off our first on July 11, 2008 to a standing room only audience with national coverage on C-Span Television, followed our Sept 18, 2009 meeting held on the campus of Howard University to another packed house of nationwide students and streamed live, through Ustream & Facebook, to the world.
In addition, I speak around the world, facilitate the The Sisterhood of Greatness and act as Management Director for The Souls of Black Girls, a riveting documentary on self-image and media, written and produced by Daphne Valerius.
As an author, I have penned several writings including a powerful audio-book entitled, How To Design Your Mind For Greatness, while being a contributor in Chicken Soup for the African-American Woman’s Soul and featured in several other publications including the acclaimed book, Self Seduction: Your Ultimate Path To Inner and Outer Beauty, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise, Washington Woman, along with online communities including NiaOnline, BlackAmericaWeb, Herplanet and EmpowerMag.
As I speak to audiences around the world, both large and small, I share my message of accountability and endless possibilities for designing your life with greatness. All of my Empowerment Enterprise efforts are operated through my company, Greatness By Design, LLC, known for its specialized training and development, strategic planning, mentor coaching, pr/marketing and media consulting.
In addition to what I do, I am a loving, creative and energetic person who thrives on out-of-box thinking while enjoying every moment I have on this planet. My young son helps me stay grounded as we live our lives fully in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Girl, you are something else. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas.
I’m new to meeting you but will definitely reading your blog in the coming weeks. Congratulations on your accomplishments so far. I’m new to this journalistic turn in my career and am inspired by all that you’re doing.
